Her relief was laid out in her expression even as he moved on. Kaine finally shifted from just lingering near to going to the extra closet. The room was quite bare with a bed, matching tables at either side, an armoire, desk, and the little closet that held the extra blanket and pillow that she aimed to retrieve. When he apologized she stopped to look at him, gratuity flooded her. Even if Kaine had it in her to hold a grudge it didn't seem possible with Alain.
"It's alright, everyone is tired or upset and in pain." She gathered up everything in her arms and somewhat haphazardly dumped it on the bed as she spoke. "... And it's much worse for you, isn't it?" Kaine unfolded the blankets and made sure the bed was covered before she sat next to him.
"I haven't said it yet, but thank you, Alain. You," Her cheeks colored faintly, so it was a good thing that she looked up at the ceiling. "You really saved my life."
