Bert gritted his teeth, firing off three shots in quick succession at the three taheen cautiously moving in on her. All three went down, steel shot lodged in their skulls. "What's this about good ideas?" he shouted back, reloading his slingshot and holding it ready. "Have you met me?"
And he laughed, but his eyes were hard as he loosed another shot, catching a slow mutant in the hand. "There's a thousand or more out here trying to kill us. How long do you think you're going to last when whatever you're doing runs out? Because, let me tell you, watching you out here as a mere squishy human like the rest of us..." He paused for a split second, wheeling to fire again, taking a man in the eye. "...Well, it's not something I'd care to watch. So if you'd go back to glowing and killing things, I'd appreciate it."
