For the first time Nariko let go of Roland's hand gently, and though she gave Alain a passing smile it seemed she was content to let them talk this out while she headed inside. Kaine noticed it, even going as far as to look away from Alain and at her friend, but stayed where she was. Nariko was likely going to check on Maggie's book, and she could handle that by herself.
